Protect What We Surf

The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is Australia’s leading national charity dedicated solely to protecting our ocean wildlife. An independent, non-profit organisation of scientists, educators and passionate advocates who protect threatened and endangered species, stop super trawlers and promote sustainable fishing practices, and work to create marine sanctuaries to protect reefs including Nangaloo and the GBR.

Through advocacy, scientific research, public education, and campaigns, the AMCS  fights for the long-term health of Australia’s marine life and coastal ecosystems, while their efforts play a vital role in conserving marine biodiversity and promoting environmental sustainability. The AMCS stands as a powerful force — one that moves with the rhythms of the ocean and never forgets what’s at stake.

At Shacked, our lives revolve around the ocean too. The ocean is where we surf at first light, dip through the summer, walk the dog in the evenings. The ocean shapes our days, our lifestyle, and how we raise our family. Protecting it is something we believe in, and are committed to. And so, with every purchase of a Shacked Surf Poncho, we’re donating $2 to the Australian Marine Conservation Society. They’re on the frontlines, working to defend the reefs, wildlife, and coastlines we all love.

It’s a small way of giving back to the big blue that gives us so much — and a step towards keeping it wild, thriving, and full of life for generations to come.
